Elizabeth Critcher McGuffey

Elizabeth “Liz” Critcher McGuffey is a direct descendant of Benjamin Hubbard, her mother Lucy the last child born in the old Hubbard homestead.  Liz is a proud graduate of UNC.  She spent most of her professional career as a pharmacist, but she also earned a PhD in Psychology from the University of Tennessee Knoxville.  Her love of solving puzzles led her to biomedical research, but she missed interactions with everyday people in the laboratory environment.  During her pharmacy tenure she worked in retail, hospital, drug information, and ambulatory care settings.  She was a contributing editor of the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association.  Since she retired, she has turned to creative writing, publishing an essay in a literary journal and a story in an anthology.  She lives in Durham with her husband Mike and their dog Rosie.
